Working with CDE, the MOD Cyber and Influence Science and Technology Centre is inviting UK industry, innovators and academia to propose transformational ideas that will develop and underpin the UK Cyber & Influence science base.

Protecting MOD systems from sophisticated threats is an increasing challenge in a networked world. This seminar will launch a call for research proposals on novel approaches to cyber defence with particular emphasis on four challenges:

• Enhanced Situational Awareness to provide tools and techniques that allows computer network defense operators to dynamically query a distributed information repository and visualize the results in support of agile risk based decision-making
• Countering Sophisticated Attacks will give the ability to detect and report previously unreported computer network attacks in real-time.
• Decision Support for Network Defence will focus upon innovative ways of exploring the impact that a computer network attack can have at the business process level.
• Co-operative Working for Network Defence will look at novel information sharing and interaction paradigms that facilitate agile risk based decision-making.

This is a new and challenging area of research and this event will outline the challenges faced in these areas and the process for participating in this call for research proposals.
